October Occurrences

Happy, Happy Birthday Danica Dear! She's made it to the ripe old age of 24!! Hope 2018 treats you well.

I went to Garrett & Zandra's and tended Luke while Garrett and Zandra took Jorie to Primary Children's Hospital so she could have surgery to do a kidney reflux repair. The nurses gave her the cutest patient award and she pulled through great.

I ushered a couple of shows at the Eccles: Thriller, and Jekyll & Hyde to get me in the Halloween spirit and then Fiddler on The Roof for a more traditional feel. (ha, ha)

Dale and I went to Sandy to watch the Monarchs game in the REAL stadium with the Mallory's. Kennlyn's soccer team passed out tickets to the parents and they had a couple of extras so we benefited. The Monarch's won and took the trophy as the Champions for the season. It was fun being there to see that happen. Thanks Kennlyn for a fun outing.

Dale, Garrett and Matt took advantage of the great fall weather we've been having and went fishing at Glendale Resevoir in ID. Matt had to try out his new gear he recently got, right? Matt and Garrett were on float tubes and Dale was in the pontoon boat. They all caught fish and had a nice, relaxing, great time.

The Hansen Clan pulled together and we celebrated Grandma Hansen's 84th birthday. She's looking pretty spry still for being 84 I think. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Garrett and Zandra threw a 2 for 1 deal for us by blessing Luke, and celebrating Jorie's  2nd birthday.
Dale and I picked up his folks so they could celebrate with us as well. Grandma loves a party! It was pretty neat to see 4 generations in the circle when Garrett gave Luke his name and a simple, but beautiful blessing.
They also had some of Garrett's close friends, Ben Brooksby and Austin Truman, there as well as Bro. Poulsen, a member from the bishopric in their ward.

The Mallory's and Danica joined in to make it a party for Jorie. She was so cute opening the gifts and she loved everyone. What a little cutie and great big sister she is. Happy Birthday Jorie!

After celebrating Dale took his folks home and I climbed in with Danica and we followed the Mallory's to the Sea Quest Aquarium in the Layton Hills Mall. It was pretty neat. You could get up close and touch some of the reptiles or even feed the fish and birds.

Danica, Amie, and I even had a fish pedicure at the Fish Spa!  We put our feet in a fish tank and the fish nibbled off the dry, dead skin from your feet. It was a weird feeling at times, but we endured and hopefully the fish got their tummies full. There's something none of us have ever done before.

The kids loved it, and the adults thought it was pretty cool too, so we all had a good time. I even got to touch a shark, a manna-ray, and some big lizard, just to name a few.

I ended up donning a new witch costume this year for North Logan's Pumpkin Walk. I also had a gal do up my make-up to make me look purple instead of green. The pictures don't really show the purple sheen though, but I did look purple.

The Mallory's hadn't been to the Pumpkin Walk for quite some time so they came and saw me witching. They also loved the scenes and the props. However, when Mazin saw the witch he didn't want anything to do with me! This witch will be back next year though. The Pumpkin Walk is a great way to kick-off Halloween.

While i was witching a cute little girl came up to me and gave me a picture and a letter. She said that last year I was green so she drew me green. She was so sweet and so cute! What a way to make my day!!

Nate and Kim had some fun occurrences happen to them. They got back on the wall and got in some rock climbing as well as got to go for a ride on the yacht of the Doctor that he shares the office with. Nate said he probably wouldn't be taking up yachting anytime soon, but maybe some type of sailing could be in the future.

They also got into the Halloween spirit and dressed up as mimes. Pretty cool looking ones too!

Nate got some good news as well. He passed his Board Certification Exams and is now fully accredited and can work and do all procedures in the hospitals. Way to go Nate!!

With the Mallory's moving into their new home, and fall fast approaching they have their work cut out for them. They have a lot of trees around their house so raking leaves has become an almost daily chore. They raked up at least 30 bags of leaves and are still smiling.

They invited me over to carve pumpkins with them. We had a dinosaur, and some pretty creative art work going on. I missed Dale getting all of my guts out, but I did it and I survived. (That's the part I don't like about carving pumpkins)

Andrew wasn't  home for Halloween this year, so they took the kids to the American Heritage Center for some fun before he left for work in Alabama.

Titan's been a good helper and loves being the big brother to his little sisters.

While Andrew was gone Nora learned how to say, "Da-Da" as her first words. That put a big smile on daddy's face when they Face Timed him.

Garrett and Zandra got in another concert. They went to hear The Script, while Danica watched the kids. They love spending time with Auntie D!! It's nice that she's close and can help them out when needed at times.

They celebrated Halloween by carving pumpkins, going on a hay ride, and letting Jorie join the ward in Trunk or Treating. She dressed up as Snow White. Pretty cute Snow White I'd say.

Our newlyweds were able to move into their home, but they did a little painting and sprucing up first. With Danica's artistic touches I'm sure it will look nice. After sleeping a couple of nights on a double air mattress they were able to get their bed and I'm sure that bed felt way good! They'll be learning the ropes of being homeowners and all that comes with it sooner than they may want, but so far, life is good for the new Mr. & Mrs. Hassell

They also became an Uncle and Aunt to the first grandson to join the Hassell family. Little Maverick is blessed to be born into such a great family and to have a pretty fun Uncle Jason and Aunt Danica.

They are still supporting the Jazz and when last minute tickets are handed to them, they don't turn them down. They should win the MVF (Most Valuable Fan) award!!

As tradition has it, Dale hooked up the little yellow trailer to the Razor and the Mallory's and Lindsay and the kids came to our house for dinner and then loaded up and went out trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. The Mallory's dressed up as a stick family and Titan and Eloise were dressed up as Harry Potter and Hermonie. I stayed home with the babies and handed out the goodies to the ghosts and goblins that came.

Lindsay fell asleep on the couch and Eloise painted up her face for Halloween to get her in the spirit. I think she did pretty well!
Andrew dressed up as a helicopter pilot and Dale dressed up as a guy from the Blue Man group (It was an easy one to pull together) and I dressed as a witch of course (gotta make use of the costume, right?) for our student ward Halloween party.

What a fun month of October Occurrences we've had!
