For starters we took the boat out to Hyrum Dam and let those that wanted to from the Logan, Utah Married Student Second Stake 12 ward go tubing, wakeboarding, or just for a boat ride. We also took our kayak and some of the kids went out in that. It was a good way for us to get to know some of these couples better. What a great group of kids these are. We're looking forward to getting to know them better.
I ushered at the Eccles for Bach's Mass in B Minor. Dale didn't sing with the choir for this event though. I also ushered for Puccini's Triology, which was part of the Utah Festival Opera Season. I guess you could say I got culturally refined.
The Mallory's came for a few nights so Dale took them out boating and Jaxson got up and skied and even crossed the wake a few times! I think he's got it down. Fun times ahead!
I went to Hogle Zoo with the Mallory's. We all had a great time and all enjoyed seeing the animals.
We went to a Bird Show and had quite an up close experience as they flew right over our heads a few times. It was pretty neat.
It was a fun full day. We spent the next day swimming with Andrew, Lindsay and kids in their housing complex swimming pool.
Nate celebrated his 34th birthday. One year older and wiser too, Happy Birthday to you Nate!
We hosted our annual Summer Neighborhood Get-together and had around 50 here to mingle and dine. Dale grilled hamburgers and I did the hot dogs. We feel pretty blessed to live in such a great area, with awesome neighbors. We even got to know a few new neighbors.
We had Dale's brother, Bryan, his wife, Stephanie, and nieces, Halle and Emma join us at Blue Water Beach at Bear Lake for the weekend. We played games, kayaked, visited and soaked in some sun. It was good to get together.
Dale and I went to The Four Seasons production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at Sky View High School. It was a very note-worthy experience. We were not disappointed.
We also slipped away for the weekend to spend some time with some of our friends. We pulled our trailers over to Crystal Hot Springs and spent a couple of nights. We visited, took a walk and checked out the Bird Refuge, played games, and ate at Maddoxx in Brigham City, UT. It's looking real dry, almost like fall since we haven't had much rain this summer. The driest summer on record so far.
Dale and I went into Logan for a dinner at The Bluebird Restaurant with his parents and siblings. It was his folks' 65th wedding anniversary. It was good to visit with out-of-town family we don't see much. We did have a bit of a scare though, Dale's dad had a mini stroke while we were visiting after dinner. It ended up that he was ok, but he went home and laid low for the rest of the day. Life is fragile, show love every day.
I got together with my niece, Carolee Barrett, and we went on a hike into a lush green forest up in Box Canyon above Mendon, UT. The trailhead started looking like fall, but it turned into a beautiful green lush forest! So Pretty!!
Thanks Carolee for introducing me to Mendon's own Fern Gully, it was well worth it and fun to visit.
Jaxson started 5th grade and Kennlyn started 2nd grade at Oakley Elementary on Kennlyn's Birthday! What a way to celebrate, huh?
Dale and I went to Oakley, ID with Andrew and Lindsay and kids to celebrate Kennlyn's 8th birthday. She had a swimming party with friends and family and even had a Dolphin cake.
We stayed over and Garrett & Zandra joined us, for her baptism and confirmation to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What a great weekend we had with family.
It was a special day for Kennlyn, and she looked so pretty in her beautiful white dress. We were glad we could be a part of her big day. Amie took some fun pictures of her to help her remember her special day.
The guys got together and did a little rabbit hunting while they were together. All were successful in helping out the farmers.

Titan also started Kindergarten this year at Summit Elementary. He's ready to go, just not sure Lindsay was ready to send him off. Boy, those little guys grow fast!
Lindsay had her sister-in-law take some pictures of these two cuties that I just think are sooo cute!! We have been blessed with seven pretty cute grandkids. Here's two of them.
Garrett and Zandra got in some fun worth mentioning. They took Jorie with them to a REAL soccer game. All had a great time, Jorie LOVED it!! Don't you love her BIG smile! She was a happy gal.
Garrett's getting into all the fun perks that come with his job, he's even getting out on the golf course a bit.
I went and stayed the night in Syracuse, UT at Garrett and Zandra's and watched Jorie while they went to dinner and the Coldplay concert with some friends.
I was glad they went, Jorie had been running a fever during the day, but we got it to break and we did just fine. I loved the cuddles I got, so it was a win, win evening for all.
Danica's soccer practice ended and the games began for the Dixie State Trailblazers. They won both pre-season games 7-0 and 2-1, and she loved being out on the field again.
The Seniors, acting like Freshmen....
Nate and Kim did something to check off their bucket list. They Climbed Mt. Rainer. All 14,416 feet of it together!! It was a grueling and sometimes bit scary two days, but they did it. The weather ended up being in their favor most of the way too. Way to go guys!! That is a HUGE Axiom!!
Heading up after a 2 hour power nap at the base camp---
Kim waling the ladder over one of many crevasses...
Made it to the summit of Mt. Rainer!! Awesome view above the clouds!
We've been reaping the rewards of our garden and even got some blackberries off of it this year! First time, and very tasty. Looking forward to more next year.
The 2016 Summer Olympics were in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a good chunk of the month as well. They didn't disappoint. Team USA represented well. We got the most medals and had some great stand-out athletes that shined as well. A very note worthy month indeed!!
