My baby is now officially an adult in this big world!! Kind of scary in a way because that means I'm getting a lot older as well! Oh well, I guess that's just the way it's suppose to be.
Dale and I took our trailer out one more time to Bear Lake and stayed at Blue Water Resort during the General Conference weekend. Dale got up early Sat. and took the 4-wheeler up Peter Sinks to scout for deer. I went on a walk and relaxed in the trailer while listening to conference. Dale even went to the Priesthood session Sat. evening and ran into some neighbors, the Jenks. It was a nice fall weekend and listening to conference in the great outdoors was wonderful. We may have to make this a tradition. The canyon was beautiful and in full color.
I went on an outing with some of the sisters in the ward. We drove through Sardine Canyon and saw the leaves and went through a session in the Brigham City Temple. Then we had lunch at the famous Maddoxx Restaurant. It was a nice day, well spent.
I ushered for the production of Guys & Dolls and the ballet of Beauty & the Beast at the Eccles Theater and Dale and I went to An Evening with Colin and Brad (a comedy show) at the theater. I've got to sit down and enjoy a few shows right?
It was Dale's mom's 83rd birthday and to celebrate we took them to see the first movie the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has made that was shown on the big screen in theaters: Meet The Mormons. (All of the proceeds from the show are being donated to the Red Cross) Keith and VerNae LOVED it! I think we did good this year ;)
Happy Birthday Mom Hansen!
Garrett and Zandra drove to Salt Lake and picked up 3/4 of our Virginia kids. Lindsay, Titan and Eloise! They'll be with us until Nov. 1st and then go to Eagle Mountain, UT to stay with Lindsay's brother for awhile. It was so good to see them and spend some time with them.
We played outside, went to First Dam and fed the ducks, worked outside, played with Tag the dog, went shopping, went to How to Train a Dragon 2, ate out, went to the famous North Logan Pumpkin Walk, and spent time with family. The house was full of laughter, tears, smiles and hugs! It was great having them around for awhile.
I left Lindsay and the kids to tend Dale while Amie, Langston, and I went to Texas to see Danica. We were there long enough to see her play in two games. Her season hasn't been like last year. So far they've won one, tied one, and lost eleven. They have had some games be real close and even go into overtime though. She's playing hard and has been playing some in the midfield and has some close shots at goal. She puts her heart on the field and it shows in how she plays.
We also helped her fill her cupboards and helped her get a 2 month supply of staples for groceries. We even got to go to see Susan Boyle, a famous British singer, preform (her first time to tour in the US) in Midland, Texas!!
We got home and had a get-together and dinner at our house with the extended Hansen clan and played some more.
Dale went hunting with his friends, Shannon and Kade Follett, in the Flaming Gorge area. They saw elk, and got a few shots off, but never got one. Dale had a close encounter with a moose and got this shot of it to bring home though. The hunt was a success! He enjoyed a week in the hills and I don't have a dead elk hanging in the garage.
Lindsay, Titan, Eloise, and I got dressed up and and went to our ward Halloween dinner and Carnival. The kids loved bowling, the cupcake walk, and the fish pond. It was a fun evening. We saw some pretty fun, silly, and cute costumes.
Garrett, Zandra, Lindsay, Titan,Eloise, and I finally got to carve our pumpkins. We all used our creative talents and showed off our carving skills. The Mallory's brought their carved pumpkins and added them to ours. We ended up with quite a nice variety!
With the Mallory clan here, Garrett and Zandra here, and Lindsay, and the kids here we had a trailer load of trick-or-treaters going around the neighborhood this year! It was a fun night eating a pumpkin shaped pizza, dressing up in costumes, lighting the pumpkins, riding in the trailer behind the 4-wheeler and coming home with enough treats to last till Christmas! We even almost ran out of candy this year at our house. We had more little goblins come to the door than in years past thanks to new homes to the north of us.
Danica even had some fun with her team. They dressed up in costumes for practice. I'd say Danica's group got pretty clever. They were the Taco Bell sauces. She was Verde, the saucy one. Very fitting I'd say!
I'm not sure what Nate and Kim did on Halloween, but I do know Nate's been living "on call" for the past month, waiting for his pager to go off. One day he had to go into Seattle three different times in the day after just getting home each time! He's been doing surgeries and has been in on toes and foot amputations. He's working at a Army Hospital in Seattle dabbing in Pathology and Substance Abuse programs as well. Kim is teaching a class at the local YMCA as well as a women's only fitness club and still taking some awesome photo shots.
Andrew stayed home on Halloween and had a pity party because he was all by himself and has been for 2 weeks! He has done some fun trips with his job though. He got to fly to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina and see some of those sights this month.
Well, I'd say we delivered quite an excessive display of happenings for the month, it was a fun, full packed one!
