We got to have ALL of the Andrew Hansen family here for a few days. Andrew had a deal in Las Vegas and came out a little early so he could see family where he was so close!
We took advantage of our nice fall weather and took them fishing. We caught a few fish, fed the ducks and got some sun.
Andrew took Dale and Garrett and Lindsay's brother, Dennis, up for a helicopter ride before heading out.
It was great having them all here.
Lindsay and the kids stayed in Eagle Mountain to help her sister-in-law with her new baby for a couple of weeks and then headed home.
They celebrated Andrew's birthday together. Just having them home was the present Andrew wanted.
Dale sang with the American Festival Chorus in a Veteran's Day program. It was very well done and stirred up some patriotic feelings. A friend from high school, that's a past Air Force Pilot and now a Congressman, Chris Stewart, spoke at the concert as well. We got to meet up with him after.
I kept busy being grandma, serving at the temple, serving at the Eccles Theater, and I helped make snowmen for the Festival of the Trees display that our ward put together to donate for the fundraiser for Primary Children's Hospital.
We had Thanksgiving here, but it was our off year with the kids, so we had a small group. Dale, his folks, Garret, Zandra and I. We had a tasty dinner though with all the trimmings and got Grandpa and Grandma to play the card game 3-13 with us!
Garrett has been preparing for finals and has had a couple of job interviews. We're hoping they can stay somewhat close. Zandra's been training servers at Oliver Garden as well as taking on shifts.
Dale and I headed over the mountain to visit the Mallory family to celebrate Langston's 2nd birthday. Amie made a darling dump truck cake. Her first time using fondant frosting.
Oakley had enough snow fall that they got out the
4-wheeler and the kids got pulled behind it on a sled. Langston fell off and got scratched up a bit. He was not a happy camper, he'll have a scar.
Matt's started coaching the Oakley girl's basketball team again. With that and being on the town council, he's been busy!
Amie played dentist again and pulled out another loose tooth of Jaxson's. That makes #6 that she's pulled out! Maybe she should of gone into dentistry?
Oakley held their first Christmas Lights Festival and arrival of Santa. Kennlyn wasn't afraid to climb up on Santa's knee, but Langston didn't want anything to do with him.
Our Texan finished her soccer season with a not so good record (2-1-14) BUT she garnered a nice award by getting the team MVP award! It has been a rough year for her, she HATES losing. However, she has learned that she can do hard things.
Our local paper has been following her and has shared her successes as well as defeats, so she's in the news back home! Not everyone gets to fulfill their dream of playing on a NCAA college team. Way to go Danica!
She's loving her art class and is getting better at drawing. She's also been introduced to new mediums to work with.
Danica was the only one in the family that wasn't with family on Thanksgiving, but she had her soccer family/roommates. She won the award for eating the most meals. She went to four Thanksgiving dinners in one day!!
I think this is one she'll remember for quite some time.......family is what it's all about. She posted this on Facebook, It says it all......
