June Justification

We got our air conditioning working and are wondering why we didn't do this 24 years ago!!! It's nice not having to worry about having windows open if it starts blowing in the night. It's also keeps the house nice and cool. Have I died and gone to heaven? No more sleepless nights or sweating in the house all day! Wonderful!!!!!

Dale and I went to Sandy and watched Danica play in a IWCC Alumni soccer game. Then we had a picnic dinner with the group and from there went to a REAL soccer game. It was a good out and fun to see Danica out on a field again. She hasn't lost that drive.

We've been to a few picnic socials and neighborhood gatherings as well as hosted our own. We ended up having 75 people here! The yard was full of kids, food and fun! We live in a great area, among some neat people.

I helped my Aunt Vonda, who's 94 yrs. young, plant her flowers again this spring. We went together and picked them out and then she watered them while I planted. We had a good system going. What a wonderful example she is!

Nate and Kim made it home safe from Thailand, where they met some friends and did some climbing and sight-seeing. They had to get a fun trip in before they move to Washington and Nate hits the grind in the workplace as Dr. Hansen.

Zandra has been doing training in Georgia to be a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, but graduated at the end of the month. Way to go Zandra! Her home base will be in New York, she'll have four days on and three days off. So Garrett, will get to see her more. Flying free has it's perks. Yeah!

She was able spent three days with Andrew, Lindsay, Titan and Eloise! The gals shopped until they dropped and just enjoyed each others company. Andrew helped with the local Search and Rescue group flying a helicopter on a search for a little girl that had drowned. Because of this he was invited to the Vasar Gala.

They celebrated their four year anniversary with the kids in Virginia Beach and even saw dolphins!
Lindsay said she's glad to have her family for eternity.

Titan got his tonsils and adenoids out. He no longer snores or stops breathing at night so they are feeling very blessed.

We had our Dale Hansen Reunion at Lake Tahoe. Nate and Kim were in charge of planning (with a little help). We had the majority of the family there. We missed Matt, Andrew, Lindsay and kids and Zandra. Garrett was only with us two nights, but we were glad we got to spend time with him.
Dale, Danica and I drove to Kelton, UT and picked up Amie and the kids and then we all went together. Nate and Kim picked up Garrett at the Reno Airport and arrived quite late, but we all made it safe. We stayed in a cabin by the lake that had a rocky beach and the kids caught crawdads and fed the ducks and geese. There were HUGE pine cones around the cabin so we collected a couple of bags to take home as a remembrance.

Nate took us on a hike to a water fall and then to Eagle Lake. Sooooo beautiful and green! The hike was perfect for the kids. Langston was in a backpack and Kennlyn was on grandpa and Nate's shoulders for a bit, but all in all we all fared just great and enjoyed the scenery. We packed a picnic and ate it before the hike. We also went to another spot that looked over Emerald Bay that had a small waterfall. So pretty!

We played games and ate and visited and played games and ate and visited. We watched a few movies and had some time in the hot tub. We all got so good at POUNCE that we played without partners! Jaxson was even playing his own deck. Way to go Jaxson!

We went to the sandy beach and played in the water a bit (just with our pants rolled up), threw the baseball around, kicked the soccer ball around, had a little picnic, fed the seagulls and chased the seagulls.

We also went on a little trail that followed the river. Very relaxing and very pretty. We live in a beautiful world!

We had three fun, relaxing days with each other. (Five total, but two were travel days) It was nice. Nate and Kim headed back to Oakland to pick up their belongings to move to Washington state and we headed back to Idaho and Utah.

We dropped Amie and the kids off and when we were about an hour into our travel home we got a call from Amie saying that she was sitting in a field! On her way home the road had a detour that took her on a dirt road and it was dusty and she wasn't familiar with the road and was probably going a bit faster than she should of been. She came on a curve that was sharper than she thought and started to slide, so instead of trying to risk over-correcting, she just went off the road, over a ditch and got side-swiped by a fence post that tore off her side mirror, dented in the side and blew out the back window. It also deployed the passenger air bag. Luckily everyone was okay, just had a few scrapes from the glass. They got to know the policeman and tow truck driver pretty well, but made it home safe. The car ended up being totaled, so it looks like they'll be getting a new mode of transportation. That's one way to get a new car ;)

Jaxson is playing baseball on two teams and is quite the little player! Matt and Amie help coach. We need to go watch him in action!

Dale and I have taken the 4-wheelers out a bit. Once up above our house and then a couple of times around the Sinks area in Logan Canyon. We also went and stayed over a couple of nights at Blue Water Beach Resort, where we bought a membership. We're hoping to have some fun in the sun and the mountains by having it. We had some friends, Floyd and Alison Griffiths, join us for a ride and then they stayed over with us. The guys found two fishing ponds and caught fish in both of them! It was a fun out for all.

Summer is in full swing-----I'd say I'm justified in saying that.
