Independence Day, a time to celebrate the freedoms of our country and reflect on the sacrifices of those who made it possible.
Garrett, Zandra and I went to Logan City's Freedom of Fire Celebration and heard Dale sing with the American Festival Chorus. We were also entertained by a band that does the music of ABBA.
It was a fun evening with good music, dancing and ooo's and ahhhh's from the fireworks.
Garrett, Zandra and I were even on the front page of the local newspaper, The Herald Journal, enjoying our sno-cones at the concert! We will do autographs!
Dale and I took Zane and Elizabeth Woolstenhulme (Zane's in the choir with Dale) to Sun Valley, ID with us for an AFC concert where they again preformed with ABBA.
We stayed at the Sun Valley Lodge for a couple nights and took the long way home. We saw Red Fish Lake and some pretty scenery!
Andrew got a job offer as a flight instructor for American Helicopters in Mannassas, VA (about 25 miles out of Washington DC) so they sold most of their furniture, packed up and headed out!
I went along with them to help drive. It was a LONG 32 hour drive. We slept in the car two nights, stopped a did a little sight seeing in Kirtland, OH (where Andrew served his mission),
and stayed in a hotel about 6 hours out of Mannassas. I helped drive some, but Andrew was behind the wheel the majority of the time. Lindsay helped keep the kids entertained. I must say for how long of a trip it was the kids did great.

Their new home is now in a big apartment complex that has a clubhouse, swimming pool w/hot tub, work-out room, and tennis court. It's in a bigger city with a lot of stores and restaurants close by. We got the trailer unloaded and realized how the humidity and heat really effect you when you're not used to it. I was dripping wet!!
We ventured to IKEA and got them some furniture before returning the trailer.
On Sunday, we went to church and found out the church is still true in Virginia! Their were a fair amount of people in the ward that have Utah connections we found out. The Hansen's will fit in just fine.
Lindsay was quite thrilled by how close places were. We ventured out to the mall which ended being a bit longer than we thought and VERY warm and humid. Next time she'll take the car!
We got them settled in pretty good and celebrated Titan's 2nd birthday with frozen pizza, cupcakes and ice cream. He loved his train!
Andrew took me to the airport early in the morning after being gone from home for a week and I was picked up in Salt Lake by my friends Kathy Fishburn and Becky Olsen. We met another friend, Jeanette Petersen, in Salt Lake and did some shopping for some things for our SVHS 35th class reunion and had lunch and visited. It was a full day, but fun.
Dale spent the week at Camp Bartlett by Paris, ID with four of his scouts. He actually had a good time and even came across a moose when he was on a walk!
I helped put together a picnic in the park for part of our class reunion as well as the main event. We picnicked at Mack's Park in Smithfield and then the next day met at Sky View High School for dinner and some memories of the good old days. It was great seeing some old friends!
I ushered at the Eccles Theatre for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Fiddler on the Roof, The Flying Dutchman and Othello. While I was ushering for Fiddler, Pres. Monson walked in!! I was on the other side of the row he was in so I got a good look at the prophet!! Pretty neat man.

To celebrate Pioneer Day, Dale, Danica and I drove to Oakley, ID and spent the day with the Mallory clan. We ate, played and went fishing. Kennlyn caught the first fish and then Jaxson caught on and ended up catching the most fish (it was catch and release), he even caught a crab! It was fun for all.
Danica packed up her bags and I took her to the airport at the end of the month so she could get back on the field to play soccer for Iowa Western Community College. She's hoping to pass all of her conditioning tests with flying colors and do well in school so that she obtains her Associates Degree in Dec. We wish her the best.
Garrett took Zandra to the airport and she flew to Washington to spend a week with her family. She went crabbing and spent time with friends as well. Garrett stayed here and worked, biked and hung out with his buddies.
Nate has been in Denver, CO all month doing an externship at the Veterans Hospital there. He fit in some time to hook up with a friend and do some climbing as well as get together with Kim and her parents in Colorado Springs to do some camping.
