I called this month June Jubilee because we were able to pull the WHOLE family together for the annual Hansen Reunion. I'll talk about that later......
To start off, this month we were still one of the 7-8 trailers that were at Sun Outdoors camped by beautiful Bear Lake. While we were there we enjoyed playing pickleball, and Dale got in some fishing with Langston and Mazin because they joined up with us for a few days so Amie and Matt could celebrate their Anniversary.
Dale and I have been serving in the temple as both a worker (Dale as an ordinance worker and me in the Youth Center) and a patron doing initiatory and sealings. We're also still serving at the CVHC and enjoying our time there. These opportunities make our week. We enjoy servings others.
It was our turn to plan the Hansen Reunion this year and Dale wanted to have the family revisit Star Valley Ranch, a place where his parents would go every summer after they retired. We had a couple of reunions there as well with his family. With the help of Dale's sister-in-law, Heidi, we were able to secure two trailer spots (one for Andrew's family in their trailer, and one for us in our trailer with Jaxson and Kennlyn with us) and also four motel rooms that had two Queen beds, a bathroom, and a mini kitchen/dining area.
Day 1: We met up with the Mallory's and Andrew and Garrett's families and caravaned together, stopping in Soda Springs for lunch and to check out the reason why the town is called Soda Springs.
Early settlers found a clear water spring that had what is now known as seltzer water. We went to the spot where this was. By it was also an area where hot water was spouted out of the ground around every hour due to the high sodium that it contained. It looked like a mini Old Faithful geyser. It was pretty cool. It was Lindsay that took us to these spots. Her grandparents lived in Soda Springs and she knew about it by visiting them. I had never heard anything about this until now. It was quite interesting.
Another cool fact is that water from this spring got its name when a group of people entered this fresh water into the World's Fair as mineral water, which won recognition and is now known as Soda Water or Seltzer Water. Hence the town being called Soda Springs.
Once we got to Star Valley we got settled in and then headed to a park in Afton for a picnic that Dale and I had lined up to be picked up at Broulin's Marketplace in Afton. We had smoked pulled pork sandwiches with salads, fruit and brownies and then we played games. We were able to find a shady spot and some of the group played a game of baseball on a dirt field before we left. It sure is a pretty area.
Day 2: After we devoured made to order omelets made by the Mallory's and hashbrowns done up by Andrew for breakfast we were going to go river rating, but the water was too high, so we weren't able to go rafting. We filled in some of that time by having the kids make a little Father's Day gift for their dads while the guys hung out together. It was fun watching the kids work together doing this.
Day 3: Nate & Diana provided another tasty breakfast by doing up breakfast burritos. Andrew's family left after breakfast. He had to get back to work. We had tee-times to go golfing at the ranch and we all got a turn on the course. I can't say I'm a very good golfer, but I can say I had fun with the group I was in which had Zandra, Jorie, Kennlyn and I. We had a good time, but boy was it hot!
The rodeo was fun and the kids seemed to like it. Little Brooks and June did well. June and Jason went down in the arena and tried to catch a calf, but there were a LOT of big kids that beat her to it. The kids did well, but conked right out soon after they got out of the parking lot to head back to Star Valley.
Day 4: The Hassell's provided a fruit parfait and muffin breakfast and then we all got packed up and ready to hit the road. Nate and Diana headed out towards Idaho Falls to catch their flight and Jason and Danica headed out, going through the Bear Lake way to get a hamburger and shake at La Beau's or Zips.
We headed out with the Mallory's and stopped to see the Star Valley Temple grounds. It's a smaller temple, but still nice, not landscaped as much as other temples, but nice. The angel Moroni on top looked huge and definitely stood out.

We stopped for a bite to eat in Preston and then they headed to their place in Providence and we turned off for Hyde Park.
What a blessing to have our whole family together for at least a few days. Great memories made.
We left on Father's Day so I want to give a shout out to all the great men in our family. We have been blessed with some of the best. Love you all. Happy Father's Day.
I had my "Fabulous Five" gals at our house for lunch and visiting to catch up with everyone. Jeanette Petersen, Kathy Bullen, Becky Olson, Teresa Maughan, and Sheri Hadfield and I ate our Zupa's lunches that Jeanette picked up for us on her way through town, on our back porch, but it got pretty warm so we moved inside and visited for about 3 hours. I feel bad that we didn't get a picture of the group. We must of had too much fun visiting with each other.
Dale and I got the bug to sell our trailer and get one that has more of a gathering area and a bigger area for food preparation, but could still sleep at least six people. We went to Layton and Draper and looked at some used ones as well as some new ones. Well, we found a 2023 model Keystone Premier trailer that had all that we needed except the dining area needed to have a dinette put in instead of a table and chairs. They said they could do that, so we bought ourselves a new trailer and put ours up for sale. It will be at least 4 weeks before we'll get the new trailer though. So next month's post should have pictures of it.
Nate and Diana did a 27 mile trail run to a historic Chalet in a beautiful area in the Cascades National Park. So pretty!!
They also got word that Dr. Halls (the doctor Nate broke away from to start up his own practice) lawsuit he put on Nate because he felt like he broke his agreement with him on starting his own business, but didn't, was dismissed!! Wonderful news for all of us. We're hoping that they can get their attorney fees paid by Dr. Hall because they were so unneeded. What a blessing that would be for them.
As mentioned earlier Matt & Amie celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe they've been married that long. Happy Anniversary Matt & Amie!
Jaxson was ordained as an Elder in the Priesthood in preparation for his upcoming mission. What a humbling experience to see this young man take on the Melchizedek priesthood. He's growing up too fast!
Jaxson was also able to receive the Temple endowment. Dale and I, along with Garrett and Zandra were able to join Amie and Matt and his Grandpa and Grandma Mallory in the temple to go through the endowment session with him. What a special experience for all. Seeing the family in the Celestial room made my heart smile. I hope and pray the best for Jaxson as he continues on the path back to his Father in Heaven.
Kennlyn was able to go to Girls Camp and had a great time with the YW in her ward. They went to the Maple Rise Campground above Mendon, UT.
Langston and Mazin played in a soccer tournament and both did quite well, especially in the heat we've been having.
Andrew and Lindsay put up a nice duck run for their ducks since they're getting bigger and bigger. It also has a little pond in it to let them take their baths and cool off.

Speaking of cooling off in water, they put up an above the ground swimming pool for the family to cool off in. Everyone is loving it.

Dale and I met Lindsay and the kids at Stonefire Pizza for dinner before going to the production of Tarzan that was put on by the Four Seasons Theater group at Sky View. It was a well done show and we even knew the Tarzan and his parents. A great way to beat the heat and spend some time with family.
Garrett and Zandra are both into biking and Zandra rode in the Little Red Ride with her friends. What a fun way to spend a weekend. Way to go Zandra!
Garrett is also trying to stay in shape. He joined up with Danica and got on an adult soccer team. They've played a few games and are learning that you use different muscles playing soccer than you do riding a bike or just doing a weight work-out. Fun for them to play hard, sweat hard, and hurt hard together.
Danica and Jason got the bug to start getting their yard in the way they want it. It had a lot of fruit trees and gravel and not much lawn in the back. They've been making a few changes and will eventually have their vision completed possibly next month some time/
Jason took a day and tried to teach June and Danica how to golf. I'm sure they'll need a few more lessons, but what a fun way to spend an afternoon.
With the warmer temps and the water filling up the reservoirs they've been getting their boat out on the water. Danica got June to join her on the surf board and they surfed behind their boat together. June's loving all of these adventures.
Speaking for the rivers, lakes, and reservoirs filling up....with it warming up, the snow in the mountains is melting and we are getting plenty of water coming down into the valleys rivers, lakes and reservoirs.
This is good news for us, we'll take it! So far our area hasn't been affected much by the runoff but the water is rising in the rivers and lakes.

Can't think of a better way to end this month than with this great news. The lakes are filling up!!
