Dale and I stayed busy going to watch the USU Men’s Basketball games. They’ve been doing quite well, and won all four games this month playing UNLV, Bosie State, Wyoming, and San Jose. Way to go Aggies!
For an early Valentine’s Day I gave Dale and I tickets to go see The Illusionists, a Broadway Big selling Magic Spectacular. It had us starching out heads and wondering how they did what they did. It was amazing and a wonderful evening.
On Valentine’s Day we helped with the Logan Married 2nd Stakes annual Valentine’s Dinner and Dance. They had a nice meal made up by Off Premise Catering. We helped dish up the food, clean-up, and dished-up
A LOT of take home plates because we had A LOT of left-overs that we needed to get a home for. However, we got the majority of it gone so that helped make everyone happy. The kids were happy to have roat beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and some brownies for a quick meal, and we were happy we weren't throwing a lot of food out. The kids had fun dancing
too. IT was a nice evening for all.
For a later Valentine’s Day outing, Dale gave me tickets to Green Canyon High School’s musical production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. For a high school production, it was way good. The kids really got into it and it was a
nice evening.
It’s not every year that I get three dates in a row with my Valentine. I feel very blessed and loved.
Dale had minor same-day surgery to get his hemorrhoids taken care of. He came through it like a trooper and is going to have a hard time laying low and not doing anything too strenuous for four weeks, but so far he's been good. He got home and took a nap and hasn't taken anything more than the higher strength Ibuprofen pills for pain. I hope all continues to go well in with his recovery.
Nate took a WHOLE WEEK or more off of work and went to Costa Rica with a friend. He learned how to surf, did some hiking, saw some cool animals, and enjoyed the beach. A trip I'm betting he'll be taking again.
When he got home, he jumped right back into his Doctor role by doing four surgeries in one day. I guess the saying “When you play, you pay” rings true in more ways than one.
Amie’s been doing better with her ankle and getting in some “home physical therapy” by doing ankle exercises and going to a pool and walking in the water.
They have a neighbor who has an in with a hotel pool, so she's been going there. It’s been paying off, because she’s worked her way from no scooter, to crutches, to one crutch, and then just the boot.

The kids have enjoyed going swimming while she walks to pool too.
She’s still coaching Jaxson’s basketball team and they’ve won some and lost some, but it’s been a good run.
Kennlyn’s soccer team has been improving and she’s showing more skill as well. We’ve tried to catch some games when we can.
Kennlyn and Langston made some pretty unique Valentin's boxes for Valentines Day. I aslo went and helped with Langston's class Valentine's Party because someone bowed out because their son went home from school not feeling well that morning and I was at Amie's. She's the Room Mom and with her foot still not full weight she asked if I'd go cover. It sure brought back a lot of memories of doing this when Amie was in elementary school. It was even kind of fun. There were a lot or creative boxes. I think Langston's was the scariest, and Kennlyn's was by far the biggest with the most bang.

Andrew worked in Indiana and Wisconsin all month. He’s good to keep in touch with the kids and Lindsay daily via face time, texting, and a phone call.
Eloise celebrated her 7th birthday with friends and for her birthday date, she wanted to go to Build A Bear and get a white stuffed dragon, so that’s what we did. We took her to Walmart where they have a
Build a Bear shop in it, and she had her dragon made. She named the dragon Bubble Gum, because she had a bubble gum scent put in it.
Then we went to Yougartland and had frozen yogurt. She picked that too. Happy Birthday Eloise! We love you!
While Andrew was working back east, he was able to see some new landscape, rather than green fields. He got to fly over Chicago and get a glimpse of the big city and skyscrapers. It changed the monotony for a bit. He said he's never really gotten to fly over a big city until now.
Garrett and Zandra hit the slopes with the kids a few times and those little ones are getting it! Jorie's soloing down the hill and Luke's getting a hang of it by holding onto the ski pole. Pretty impressive. I'm sure more family ski days will be in the future.
Luke got so he'd hang onto the ski pole and go over these little jumps and did really well. He'll be soloing for sure next year.
Jorie was pretty excited because she read her first book, all by herself! Kindergarten will be a piece of cake for her.
Garrett got invited to go snowmobiling up Logan Canyon in the Sinks area with some of his co-workers as a company building effort to create a bond I'm sure. Anyways, he LOVED it! The weather was perfect, and the machines had the power to give them a good ride. It was just the drivers that had a problem a few times. They definitely got a work out. This was the first time Garrett's been a driver and I think he might want to give it a go a few more times.
For Valentine's Day Garrett took Zandra to the Ballet.
The weathers been typical Utah weather, spring and winter within a week, but Zandra got a good day in and tried out the bike she got for Christmas. She and a friend went on a trail ride and it looks like Garrett did alright. They had a good time.
Garrett got busy and got his painting, exercise and music/recording room organized and put together. I hope his efforts were worth it and he can balance his time to use it.
They took the kids ice skating for the NWAOR (North Weber Association of Realtors) Affiliates family night on ice event. All had a good time and Jorie's skating on her own now. Taking after her mom's talent and love for the ice I think.
Jason celebrated his 28th birthday with family. We, along with the Mallory's went to their new place, which we hadn't seen yet, and had a pizza dinner, visited and watched the Jazz game to celebrate. Happy Birthday Jason!
While we were there Danica surprised us with a drawing she'd done of our house. This was the first house drawing she did, and now she's been making a lot. How special is that. We were very grateful and humbled at what she wrote on her Facebook feed after we left. This house is our home because of all of the wonderful memories that have been created here. We love the gift, and I got it framed and it's hanging in our hallway for all to see.
The house I grew up in 🏡
This
is the house my parents brought all 6lbs of me home to meet all my brothers and
sister. The one I took my first steps and spoke my first word in. Where I built
forts in the backyard and always tried to keep up with my brothers and be as
cool as my sister. Where my mom tried to teach me to cook, but that never
caught on. The home that I cried my eyes out in and the one where I danced to
Avril Lavigne and blasted my stereo way to loud.
The home where my parents raised 5 busy kids and the home where all those kids bring their own kids to celebrate holidays and birthdays together.
I know that one day this home might share all those same memories with a different family so before they did I wanted to give a little piece of it to the most amazing humans - my parents - to take with them whenever that day comes.

They celebrated Valentines weekend by going to St. George and hitting a few balls, hitting the dirt in the Razor, getting out the ropes and doing some rock climbing, and just enjoying time with family. A great way to celebrate I'd say.
From there, they headed to San Diego for a Conference for Guild Mortgage. They worked, played, and got in some of the sights. They were able to do sealings in the San Diego temple too.
Where Jason is working with his mom who manages a Guild Mortgage office in Ogden, his mom was with them at the conference. Danica wrote this about her experience and her new job working with Jason. I wish them both the best in their new endevour.
Learning SO MUCH this weekend
and soaking in all the good energy that is oozing out here!
I am so lucky I get to not only be my husbands
right hand in life but at work too! My love for him has grown stronger during
this new experience of working together. His drive and passion radiates around
him and I absolutely love seeing that fire in his eyes! @ San Diego, California
On their way home they took a little detour and went and checked out The Seven Colored Stones in Jean, NV to break up the trip some. I'd never heard of this place. pretty cool just out in the middle of nowhere.
They ended the month by going to Bear Lake to celebrate his mom and aunts birthday, with the family. It was cold, but they got in a lot of games and hot chocolate.
I have been blessed with two beautiful sisters and my oldest sister, DeAnn, celebrated her birthday this month. She shares it with our oldest brother, Craig. Well, my little sister, Tanya, posted a fun picture on Facebook that I loved. I think we do look related, and I'm pretty proud of that. I sure love my siblings. Happy Birthday DeAnn!!
We got another day this month and year because it is a leap year, so we had one more day to soak in the love and fun this month brought. February 29th only happens every four years.
