Dale went skiing at Solitude Ski Resort with Garrett and Andrew as well as fishing with Alan Grunig at Devil's Creek in Idaho over our Spring Break. Tells you what the weathers been like, cold enough to keep enough snow for the ski resorts to stay open, and warm enough to go fishing.

Dale also rented a stump grinder and ground up the stump from the Willow Tree. It took him a lot longer than he thought it would, but it's done and it looks good. Now to figure out what the put in it's place! The yard looks bare!!
With the calling that we have in the Logan Married Student 2nd Stake being the Stake Just Serve Representatives we signed up through the Just Serve app to help out at Willow Park for their Easter Eggstravaganza. It started out looking like it might not be a very good day out, but it ended up sunny and warm. I ended up putting on an Easter Bunny suit and greeted the kids and gave them a treat part of the time, while Dale ran the egg on a spoon race. Then we both moved inside and ran the table where they made a quill pencil and we talked about the animals that were in the room. There was a hedgehog, (which we've had some experience with because of Danica's hedgehog, Willow) a tarantula spider, and an Iguana.
We had a fun time and were glad we took advantage to help out.
I ushered for the USU Dance Group, The Hillbenders, Broadway's Next Hit Musical, and the Battle of the Best for the Eccles. They had a lot of shows going this month! I also served in the clothing rental area and the Youth Center at the temple and started DIBELS testing with my darling DIBELS ladies.
We had family, that could, gather for Easter weekend and we made the most of it. We had a big Easter egg hunt on Saturday, but I added a twist and put symbols of Easter in some of the eggs to help the kids remember why we have Easter. We talked about the meanings as the kids were opening their eggs and at lunch where we had a tasty meal. We played Kickball and Badminton and enjoyed the sunshine. We colored eggs and decorated them, (Danica got pretty fancy with her art skills) and we worked together in the kitchen to prepare food for Easter Sunday.
Kennlyn and Zandra even did up some Empty Tomb rolls for us for dinner and boy were they tasty! Those will be a tradition food from now on for our Easter meal.
Dale was around for the egg hunt and lunch, but because of the American Festival Concert Lux Aeterna: The Choral Music of Morten Lauridsen, he had practice and then the performance. We had fun without him though, and he enjoyed performing in the concert, so it was a win, win deal for all.
It was fun waking up and seeing the kids excitement while looking for the eggs that had been hidden as well as the smiles from seeing what the Easter Bunny had left in their baskets.
Dale and I had to speak in the 17th Married Student Wards Sacrament Meeting, so the Mallory's, Garrett's crew, along with Danica and her boyfriend, Jason, all came to hear us talk. The kids looked so cute all dressed up in their Sunday clothes.
Well, we got through our talks alright and then we had a delicious Easter/Birthday meal with those that could come (We missed Nate and Kim). Garrett cooked up some very tasty spare ribs on the grill, and manned the Dutch Oven potatoes and vegetables. We had a couple of tasty salads, the yummy Empty Tomb rolls and strawberry cream cheese pies with birthday candles in it to celebrate Dale's 58th birthday. It was so nice too, because all pitched in to help fix the meal or help clean it up.
After we had our fill, those that wanted to, loaded up in Andrew's truck and headed up to the foothills of Hyde Park Canyon where we played baseball or golf with the dyed Easter eggs.
I think Jason won the prize for getting the most egg on him from a baseball hit, as well as the award for being the best pitcher and dodger. We all had fun.
I love this spring season, when things are starting to turn green and new life starts creeping out of the ground in flowers and buds on the trees
A reminder of the new life our Savior gives us by the sacrifice he made for us.
Dale had a conference in Provo so I played bachelorette for a few days. One of those days when he was gone the power went out for 4 hours at night. I'd been at Lee's in Smithfield getting a few groceries and they had power, and some of Hyde Park had power, but our area went black. I was glad for my supply of candles and that the flashlights had batteries.
I stayed busy while Dale was gone. It was Dad Hansen's 87th birthday, the day Dale left, so Dale stopped in and had lunch with his dad before he left and then I spent the evening with Dale's siblings visiting and having cake and ice cream. Keith was quite thrilled that Pioneer Valley Lodge had made a little cake for him and the staff came out carrying it with a candle in it singing Happy BIrthday to him at dinner.
For Dale's birthday where he was gone, I sent him a Facebook message and his sister Nancy posted a cute picture of him when he was little.
I also gave him tickets to a Jazz play-off game. We had pretty good seats for it too. He got home from Provo, and two days later we headed to Salt Lake for the game. The Utah Jazz vs the Los Angeles Clippers. It was so fun feeling the energy from the crowd and seeing it live. We even got a free t-shirt to wear during the game and a towel to wave. I think I scored this year gift wise even though the Jazz lost the game.
We got home way late from the game and the next day we got up to help our ward clean the Logan Tabernacle. It was pretty funny, because as we were cleaning there was a guy there practicing the organ and playing different hymns quite loud. I've never had such a uplifting experience while cleaning and it was our first time to ever clean the tabernacle. We felt like the Ghost Busters with our vacuums on our backs!
Speaking of the Jazz, Danica and Jason got to go to a couple of the Jazz games as well as a Monster Super Cross event at the U of U. Those two don't let dust build under their feet when it comes to entertainment.
While we're speaking of not letting dust build under your feet, Nate and Kim are not letting moss grow under theirs! Nate took advantage of a late snowfall and the incredible snow in Washington and did some back country skiing up around Lane Peak on Mt. Rainer.
Lindsay tried going on walks while the weather was good to get their little one to come on her own, but at no avail. Nora loved getting some fresh air though.
I was invited to go to the hospital with Andrew and Lindsay and be there when Lindsay had their baby, and to be the photographer. They were the only ones there, in the new Women's Center, at the Cache Valley Hospital, to have a baby so they got top treatment. Lindsay did great and Arwyn Debbie Hansen was born April 24, 2017 weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 20 1/2 in. She's so tiny and sweet! The doctor guessed 6 lbs.11 oz. He won the guessing game.
Andrew went and picked up Titan, Eloise and Nora and brought them to see their new sister. They were all hugs and smiles. The birth of a new child is always so amazing. We are blessed. Nine grandchildren, can you believe it?
Titan had an exciting day of his own. He lost his first tooth!! He was so excited and he even got a dollar from the tooth fairy!! I wonder what he spent that dollar on?
Garrett got spring fever and got his bike out and had Jorie help him shine it up. So cute and so fun!

With interest rates starting to rise Garrett's been busy helping people get into homes or helping them refinance their homes. He's getting more comfortable with working with people and his job. The dogs even love him!
Garrett and Zandra took advantage of the good weather and took Jorie to Hogle Zoo. Jorie loved the animals and they all enjoyed the fresh air.
Zandra also had another motive in mind as well though, she was hoping to start something going so she could have their little one arrive early. She still has 3 1/2 weeks to go though.
The Mallory's have quite the scouter in the family. Jaxson received his Arrow of Light award as well as participated in the Pinewood Derby. Way to go Jaxson!!
The kids are keeping Matt and Amie busy, with Kennlyn doing gymnastics, Jaxson taking piano, Langston going to preschool, Matt coaching golf and Amie being involved in the schools PTO (Parent Teacher Organization).
I celebrated my 47th birthday, with Dale taking me to dinner at Callaway's, and then Andrew and Lindsay had us over for cake. We cuddled and played with those cute kids and then we watched the movie Passengers with them. It was a nice day.
April definitely made a statement this year.
