I ushered two events at the Eccles. One, was for the Miss Cache Valley Pageant and the other was a matinee, CVCB performance of Cinderella. There saw a lot of women and girls in pretty dresses, princess gowns and crowns. Dale and I saw Tarzan at the Old Barn theater and we also went to a Variety Show with our friends, Floyd and Alison Griffiths, that was put on by the Sky High Players of SVHS. At the end of the month, Dale, Danica, her friend Tre', and I went and saw "The Sound of Music" put on on by The Four Seasons Theater Group. All were very entertaining. Quite masterful even!
Dale had his annual USBA conference in St. George, so we headed south for a bit to enjoy some sunshine. The Mallory clan joined up with us because it was their spring break. Jaxson turned 8 years old and had a early birthday party with friends because we were on the road on his birthday.
It was a basketball party. They played a basketball game and some other games that related to using a basketball. He had a basketball cake as well. Sounded like he had fun and Amie pulled off a great party.
While driving to St. George we encountered all seasons in one day! We left with a overcast sky and then ran into rain, a huge snowstorm (probably the worst we've seen all winter) and had high winds! Then we had the sunshine in St. George. It was crazy!
While Dale was in meetings we went to the new Children's Museum in St. George, and let the kids explore and play. Each room had a different theme and you could dress up and pretend or play. Very nice.
Then we drove up to Snow Canyon and had a picnic lunch with the birds. One bird would fly right up to the table and take some crackers. We also went on the Lava Tube Flow hike and then followed the Butterfly Trail. It was a great day for a hike, not real hot, just nice.
While on the Butterfly trail we saw a Gila Monster! Jaxson was the one that pointed it out. while he and Kennlyn were on the look-out for finding lizards. Pretty cool because it's really rare to see a Gila Monster out and about. We found out they live underground 95% of the time. The kids loved climbing on the red rocks. It was a beautiful day.
After Dale got out of his meetings we went and played tennis for awhile and really wore the kids out.
The next day, we went to the splash pad and water area by the tabernacle and even though it wasn't real warm, the kids loved getting their feet wet. The kids rode the carousel, we visited with some friends and got ice cream in a fun old-fashioned shop.
Next stop Overton, NV to visit the Brady bunch. We had the 4-wheelers with us so we went on a ride around the area where Doug and Donna live. The weather cooperated even. Sunshine and not real hot. Then we all went and tried out the new pizza joint in town and visited.
We went on another ride up in the Canyon of Fire and up a Box Canyon. It's a beautiful world around us.
Jessie, Mondo and little Brady came to visit and we had a good time with them. It was fun seeing the kids play. Jaxson and Mondo really hit it off.
It was good visiting with the Brady Bunch. They know how to make you feel welcome.
The drive home was in rain, sleet and snow again but we were glad we got in some sun. I even have a tan line!
Danica had to stay home because of work, so she and Tag made sure all was well when we got home. She landed another job working with Kathy Kay Foods again. But it won't start until the first of May. She'll be working two jobs until Aug. She's planning on putting as much money as she can towards paying for school. You've got the right idea Danica, way to go!
Zandra interviewed to be a flight attendant for Sky West and Delta and found out that she got accepted. She'll start training in April. Garret won an award for his design for a portable tent hammock for a project for school. He's doing well in school and making the most of it.
They took the 4-wheeler out a few times to do a little climbing and also spent some time with some of Zandra's friends from Washington and went to a Jazz game and took a little trip to Las Vegas.
Andrew got 700 hours logged of fly time and he and Lindsay are still checking out their surroundings. There are a ton of parks around Mannassas, so they are hitting up as many as they can before the humidity sets in. The kids loved it....all 3 of them!
Andrew and Lindsay did something they never do....they tried out a new restaurant! It was an Italian place called Bertuccies. It was ok, but they decided they'd stick to their usual ones. They also went roller skating and were the only white people there. They stuck out pretty well too, not just in color, but in their lack of skating skills as well.
Eloise can walk if she wants to but she is clearly content not to pursue it any more than she has to because she can get around faster on her knees. Titan's been a good brother and has been encouraging El to go potty in the toilet. She's even done it a few times! Who knows what she'll learn first.....to walk or go potty?
Nate has been on a Medicine Rotation in the Bay area and was matched to the Puget Sound VA Podiatry Program in the Seattle and Tacoma Washington area for residency. He also rode his bike 400 miles in 4 days from San Fransisco to Santa Barbara with his friend Jeremy Koons. They rode down the famous Lombard Street to kick it off. However they ran into some bike problems and had to cut the ride short 20 miles because of it.
Kim is killing it in the gym. She started Cross-Fit and is learning to power lift. She's liking it. Watch out Nate, she may start taking you down in arm wrestling! She's also been busy with work and trying to figure things out for their move to Washington state in July.
Everyone is happy, healthy, still employed and enjoying life as much as possible. Hence, Masterful March!
