Jittery January

I titled this month Jittery January because it's been downright cold at times and then would warm up some and then dip down again. We've not had much snow, it's just been real cold, so the snow hasn't melted much.

On a good note, Logan got the ice rink up and going at Merlin Olsen Park and it's still going strong! Probably the longest we've had a public outdoor ice rink in a long time.

Not a lot has really happened this month----Dale had his annual UASBO conference at Little America in Salt Lake and I got away for a few days. Just relaxed and lounged around. Always good to do after the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
I started up doing DIBLES testing again and have been serving in the temple and at the Eccles Theater, but other than that it's just been cold and you don't want to really get out and do a lot. Needless to say, we have been enjoying our hot chocolate :)

Dale did get out a couple of times and went ice fishing. He took Garrett with him one time and went with friends the other time. They had a great time, but never brought any home.

Nate finished up his time in Colorado doing internships at Kaiser in Clackmas and for the Legacy Hospital System in Portland. He has finally been reunited with Kim. She's been a trooper in managing the apartments they live in for the last 6-7 months. She's also bringing in a paycheck teaching a fitness class and doing photo shoots.

Nate found out he passed his Board 2 Exam so that was a relief. Now to find out where he'll be doing his residency------we're hoping somewhere within driving distance so we can see more of them.

The Mallory's stayed for a bit towards the end of the month. Matt, Amie and Jaxson went to the Jazz game while Dale, Danica and I watched Kennlyn and Langston for a couple of days. We had enough snow to do a little sledding and to just play in, so Kennlyn was very happy because Oakley hasn't had any snow that lasted. Jaxson's basketball team is still going strong and he's becoming more and more "game smart" and is an asset to the team. We're looking forward to when we can get away to watch him play.
Langston's now running all over the place and seems to do fine at keeping up with Kennlyn. It's been fun to see how he interacts with his big brother and sister. They get along pretty well.

Andrew has been racking up flight time and recently logged 600 hours! He's thinking he'll have his 1,000 hours by the end of the summer and will be looking for jobs closer to home. We wish them the best.

Lindsay's learning the ups and downs of having two kids, but loves the challenge most the time and has been teaching them well. Titan's pretty much potty trained and is talking a lot more and Eloise is starting to take steps.

Garrett and Zandra found a nice big 2 bedroom apartment in a great location, for a great price. It's close to campus and town, and even the ice rink! Zandra goes and skates quite a bit and is back at Olive Garden working as a trainer and server. Garrett's back into school and has taken up painting again as a hobby. He's still looking for a job because the one he thought he had fell through.

Danica has two jobs!! She does some babysitting for a couple in our neighborhood and also works as a hostess and banquet server for The Bluebird Restaurant in Logan. She'd like to find something with more hours, but she's glad for what she has for now.

She still hasn't committed to a university to play soccer yet. Time will tell.

My aunt, Vonda Whitlock (who is my mom's sister), turned 94 this month and so Danica and I took her to lunch and we had a good visit. For 94 she's doing awesome! Still lives alone in her home and drives! She still goes to the USU basketball games too! What a wonderful example of living life to the fullest.
Kind of a uneventful month, yet still I'm wondering where it went------crazy how that happens, huh?
