The month started off with Dale joining our son, Garrett, and grandson (Garrett's dad), Luke for a salmon fishing trip to Grangeville, ID with Garrett's father-in-law, John Dennis. They were gone for 4 days and got in some pretty good fishing. We were able to have some fresh salmon for a few meals too.
While Dale was gone I was able to attend the funeral for my dear Aunt Marie Hadfield. She was 98 yrs. old and lived a wonderful, full life. I loved her beautiful smile, full laugh, and caring example. Her husband, Max will dearly miss her. They were together in most all they did, working at their shop, Trend Interiors, or out in town. It was always Max & Marie.
I got together with a good friend, Kathy Bullen, and a couple of her sisters, and went to dinner at Fredrico's Pizza and then to The Truman Brothers Concert at the Eccles Theater. I enjoyed the company as well as the concert. So glad for good friends.
Dale & I helped with a big project sponsored by the Huntsman Business college service club the USU campus for the Cache Valley Humanitarian Center. There were around 200+ students involved in helping and serving. It was pretty amazing and fun to be part of.

I was able to serve in the Logan Temple Youth Center as well as do temple sealings for the dead. I love being in the temple. I always leave feeling fulfilled.
Dale & I missed the first USU men's basketball game against Westminster College, but got to go see them play Weber, UTEP, & Montana and they won all of those home games. They've got a pretty good start!

We also met up with Steve & Kathy Norton and went to Logan High's production of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" with them. Some of the kids in it have been serving at the CVHC and the Norton's have been working with them through the Seminary program at the school. They put on a nice show, and it was great to catch up with some great friends. Again, so glad for good friends.
We had the Mallory's and Hassell's here for Thanksgiving. Dale tried something new this year, and smoked the turkey. We had ham as a back-up, but didn't need it, because the turkey was very tasty. I also had a couple of crafts that the kids did while waiting to eat, and Danica made up a "Thankful Turkey" where we wrote things we were grateful for on paper feathers to add to the turkey.
The Hassell's stayed with us the night before Thanksgiving through the weekend. After our Thanksgiving feast we went to the CVHC and worked on sleeping mats for the homeless, then went back to our house and had a light dinner, desserts and played games. The next day after our big feast, we went out for dinner at Chick-Fil-A and to the movie Zootopia 2 for some fun and to celebrate Amie's boy, Langston's 13th birthday.
We also went to the USU vs Boise football game and got caught in some rain, but enjoyed being together. The kids were troopers with the rain & cold. However the Aggies lost, so that was a downer.
I ushered at the Eccles for The Cache Valley Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker. They got new costumes which brightened up the stage more. They always do a nice job, and this year was no different.
When we woke up the next day, we had snow on the ground!! Not a lot, but enough for Dale to shovel the sidewalks. It was on a Sunday, so he shoveled the walks just before we left for church, that's why he's doing it in his suit. It was muchly needed, so we aren't complaining.
Nate got the fireplace in their house all done. It looks very nice. Good job Nate, those construction jobs you had in high school and college helped maybe, huh?
Nate and Diana took advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday and flew into Nevada to get in some rock climbing in the Red Rock Canyon National Park so they could keep up to their tradition of having turkey on the rock. It was a lot warmer there than in Washington too, so that helped build their spirits some as well.
The Mallory's have had some fun. Mazin got to do a solo part with two other kids in a song and did a speaking part in their wards Primary Program. We were able to go and watch it. Those kids sure know how to sing. It was a nice program.
They were able to attend the Burley, ID Temple Open House with Matt's family as well. Matt grew up in Burley, so that's kind of special for him.
Matt also held an incentive program to encourage the students in the school to fill their rainbows with things they are thankful for at Heritage Elementary where he works for the kids to get involved in. It looks like they took it pretty serious too. Those walls are full of rainbows that the kids had filled up! Pretty cool.
At the first of the month, Dale and I took Langston to Morty's for dinner and to the Eccles theater to see "STOMP", a percussion group that uses everything but conventional percussion instruments - matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps - to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. We all loved it. Happy Birthday Langston!!
Amie made Langston a cake that looked like a rainbow trout for his birthday because he likes to fish almost as much as Grandpa. I'd say it looks pretty good and tasted pretty good too.
Kennlyn had some fun by going to the schools Sadie's girls choice dance. Amie made this post of Facebook about it.... Sadie’s for Kennlyn was a slam dunk! She had so much fun with her date and group! They made quite the power couple on and off the dance floor!
Elder Mallory was able to celebrate the Day of the Dead with his and companion. He also kept busy by working in a three-some at times as they visited members and tried to find people to share a gospel message with. From his letters: This is the most English speaking area I have been in. Everyone starts speaking English once they find out one of my companions has a week in Mexico. Another week gone! Still loving Xalapa more and more. It's been getting cold which is so nice. The work has been going better. We have got to know the area more and find out what more it needs.
One thing we found out to do is talk to everyone and ask if they want a message about God. It's crazy. It works. I was able to go on divisions with another Elder and we saw so many miracles. I know that God is preparing the people. We also had a crazy experience. Our cab driver said he had a dream about an angel that looked like us and he is willing to do whatever to receive the blessings of an Eternal Family. I love this work!
With Andrew and his clan living in St. George now and still getting settled in they're finding that they live in a pretty great neighborhood. All the kids started school, Nora's enjoying school too and it's been good for all of them so far. They enjoy the warmer temperatures and have gotten their house mostly put together. For Thanksgiving they went out to dinner to enjoy a feast. We got to visit with them via Face Time.
Andrew celebrated his birthday with the family as well. Happy Birthday Andrew!
Garrett's crew has been busy with sports (Luke indoor soccer, which Garret's helping coach & Jorie gymnastics), piano, and practices for their school's play/musical "The Jungle Book". Jorie was a Shanti and Luke was a baby elephant. Both had speaking parts and Jorie had a solo part. It was a fun production and done very well.
Danica & Jason and their kids joined us in the audience, and we were all thoroughly entertained.
For Thanksgiving, Zandra's dad and his partner joined them, so they put on their own feast.
The Hassell's got away to California with some of Jason's siblings for a fun get-away. The kids loved Sea World and the beach, but who wouldn't in November?
June turned into a turkey at her pre-school. She sure made a cute one didn't she?
Now to fill you in on some of the things that happened outside of our family highlights ---- Elder Gérald Caussé is the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks and the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Apostles are special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world. They also engage in significant administrative responsibilities, overseeing the operation and development of a global Church. The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest presiding body in the government of the Church. They serve under the direction of the First Presidency, which includes the Church President and two counselors.
The recent U.S. federal government shutdown, which began on October 1, 2025, lasted a historic 43 days, making it the longest in American history. The impasse was finally resolved late on November 12, 2025, when both chambers of Congress approved a funding package that President Trump signed into law, reopening the government and restoring operations for millions of Americans.

Locally we were able to see the Northern Lights again!!! The cool thing about it this time was that Garrett in Mountain Green, UT saw them, Titan in St. George, UT saw them, and Dale and I saw them in Hyde Park, UT. We all got a similar picture too. This is very rare for our area to have this happen like it has, but we'll take it.
Pictures L-R: St. George, Mt. Green, Hyde Park
I'm adding a picture to show what type of weather we've had this month. It's been pretty mild, and quite nice. We did get a dusting of snow though. The clouds were real low for most of the morning when I took this picture. Soon after I took the picture they slowly disappeared. Boy, we live in on a beautiful planet.
