They also did some rock climbing with friends in the Smith Rock State Park.........
.............and found some snow at Crystal Mountain Resort.
America made history and voted in Donald Trump as the new President of the United States. A businessman worth four and a half billion dollars without any experience in government. His Vice President is Mike Pence from Columbus, Indiana. He has had experience in government affairs. It will be interesting to see how it all goes in the next year.
Amie, her kids and I headed south and spent a few days with Danica in St. George. She had her last two soccer games at home, and Sr. night, so we thought we'd go support her and enjoy the change in the scenery.
We went to a fun park and let the kids get their wiggles out and then grabbed a bite to eat before the game.
They lost their first game, but it was a win for us because we saw Danica out on the field, and we all went for ice cream after.
The next day we hit the outlets and did some shopping then took the kids to Matt's aunt's house and us gals went to see David Archuleta in concert at Tuacahn. We had a blast and the concert was fun. The kids even had fun with the cousins, so it was good all around.
Fiesta Fun was a must the next day. We got Danica to join us for a bit and did some mini golf, bowling, go-carts, bumper boats, and hit the arcade.
Then we headed to Hansen Stadium for Danica's last soccer game for the season and Sr. night. Jessie, Mondo and Brady Del Toro even showed up at the game. They honored all the Seniors before the game and then had the game. It was a good game and went into OT for the win! We showed up with signs to show our support. Dixie State Women's Soccer for 2016 is history for Danica. She's ready to move on and graduate. She'll be done with school in December. She's made some good memories and good friends while in St. George.
We met up with the Del Toro's at Thunder Junction (a fun new park) and let the kids play for awhile and we visited with them and Danica then got some lunch and headed back home. It was a fun trip and we were glad we were able to spend some time with Danica and see the Del Toro's.
We must of brought the good weather back with us because it's been great fall weather here lately. I love fall and I love where I live. So pretty.
While I was in St. George, Dale was on a muzzle loader elk hunt in Flaming Gorge with Shannon and Kade Follett. They saw a lot of deer and some elk, but he never got a shot off. They had good food and a good time in the outdoors though, so it was all good.(at least in my eyes)
Dale sang with the American Festival Chorus for the Veteran's Day program at the Eccles theater. They always do a great job and the place is always packed. I'm proud to be an American. My dad served in the army, as well as most of my uncles. We were blessed and didn't have anyone killed from war. Thank you to all who served and serve our country.
Dale's uncle, Brent Hansen, passed away. We attended his funeral and Dale was able to see some of his cousins that he hasn't seen in a long time. Brent loved aviation, even though he couldn't fly. They did a fly over for him while we were at the cemetery in his honor. Pretty cool.
Danica was selected to show her art work in graphic design at an Art Show at the school.
Her project was created on the computer. I was quite impressed, she's learned so many facets of art it's amazing. I felt bad that we couldn't make it to the show, but my brother, Craig and his wife, Janet are living in St. George until they go back on their mission. They were tending their grandkids and went to the show for us to represent the family.
Garrett and Zandra surprised us with the news that they'll be adding another one to their family in late May. That will make 9 grandkids! They also found out that they're going to be having a boy. One of each! I hope all goes well for them.
They took advantage of the good weather and got out and went on a hike in the great outdoors. We've had a great fall, but winter is around the corner.
We spent Thanksgiving with Garrett and Zandra. It was a nice day full of great food, and in good company. We visited and played a few games and Dale even got in a little nap as well. Thanks for a wonderful day!
Lindsay got a surprise call Thanksgiving night. She was asked if they would be willing to adopt a baby!! They had been planning to adopt, but then Lindsay got pregnant and so they put the idea on the backburner. Their neighbor had asked them awhile back if they'd consider adopting her grand-daughter, Sadie's, baby. Sadie is 17 and the father of the child is 18. They were now closer to delivery and seriously thinking of putting the baby, a girl up for adoption. After talking it over with Andrew, who was working out of the state. They decided that even though Lindsay is expecting a girl the first part of May, they would take the baby into their family. Now the wait is on to see if it will all go through. Wow! They could have 3 kids in two weeks or less and another one added in May!
Lindsay got busy and put up their Christmas tree downstairs and started getting the nursery ready and things in order for the baby.
We got some snow and that created some excitement in the kids. They got all bundled up and went out to play in it. We've had such a mild fall, and then we got a cold snap. Good thing Dale and I got the flower beds cleaned out before the snow hit!
Dale and I went to Oakley, ID for Langston's birthday. Dale took his guns and the clay pigeon shooter and we went target shooting and clay pigeon shooting earlier in the day. I was 3 for 3 on my shooting. Not bad for a rookie, huh?
Then we went to Amie's and had cake and ice cream and let Langston blow out the candles and open his gifts. It was a fun day. It started out windy and a bit chilly, but warmed up as the day went on.
Happy Birthday Langston!!
Andrew's birthday will have to be celebrated when he gets home from his job. He's coming home a little early because of the adoption. We're looking forward to seeing him.
Well, that's the nuts and bolts for this month.
